NON POROUS PRIMER

Much has been said about primers in construction. Most of which are the porous primers which were not the best but most used. This brought up the non porous primers.
They are the now most sort after primers in the construction industry.

We can  start by the simplest definition of what we mean by non porous.
According to  Oxford English Dictionary it is not allowing liquid or air to pass through it.

A primer on the other hand is an undercoat or a preparing coating before painting on materials.

Non porous primer is a unique solvent free primer specifically designed with adhesion enhancing properties for use onto metallic, smooth, dense, and non porous surfaces.

Priming ensures better adhesion of paint to the surface, increases paint durability, and provides additional protection for the material being painted.
Non porous primers are suitable for water based’ membrane systems for non-porous substrates.

We, Build Construction Chemicals, are experts at at construction chemicals and all our primers are of great quality to ensure that perfect durable finish.

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN WATERPROOF,WATER RESISTANT AND WATER REPELLENT.

Many a times we confuse between the three terms namely; waterproofing, water resistant and water repellent. There will be a brief discussion on the differences of three.

Definitions.
According to the Oxford English Dictionary the definitions are as follows:-
Waterproofing.
Impervious to water

Water resistant.
Able to resist the penetration of water to some degree but not entirely

Water repellent
Not easily penetrated by water, especially as a result of being treated for such a purpose with a surface coating

Water resistant
It is designed specifically to resist damage by water but can resist the penetration of water up to some degree therefore the lowest of the three on water protection.
Water resistant fabrics provide protection from limited precipitation.

Water repellent
More effective than water resistant. It is hydrophobic which means repels with water.
Has a breathable membrane that allows air transmission which help regulate heat and release moisture.
Water repellent fabric is coated with a finish such as (DWR ) which stands for durable water repellent.

Waterproofing
It is the best of the three as it is more effective one.It basically means there is no penetration of water either in or out to provide a high level of sustained water protection during the harshest conditions.More on waterproofing contact us.

There is a thin line between the three hence the difference is subjected on the effectiveness. There is a wide change and debates but all in all is that it enables our fabrics be durable and long lasting among other benefits.
In construction it is important to know all and use them as needed. That is why we exist. At East African Flooring and Build Construction Chemicals we not only offer the services but also the best products to suite the client.
