PARQUET FLOORING

Parquet flooring is a type of floor made from several small pieces of hardwood placed together to form a pattern. The pieces are often made of different grains and types of woods. The pattern formed can be quite large, sometimes encompassing an entire room. Parquet can also form a small pattern in a tile. In this case, identical parquet tiles are used to cover a room. Parquet is more popular than some other types of flooring for several reasons.
The Look
  • One of the most important factors to consider when deciding on a type of flooring is the finished look. The look of parquet flooring is appealing and sophisticated to many people. It's unique, which is hard to come by in today's world of boxed laminate floors. The different types of wood make it easy to match to nearly any decor or style. There are so many varieties of parquet available, you'll be sure to find a design to fit your taste.
Cleaning
  • Parquet flooring, much like any other hardwood floor, is easy to clean. Spills wipe right up, and all that is needed for regular cleaning is a broom and a mop. Parquet floors rarely stain, and you don't have to worry about them absorbing unpleasant odors.
Durable
  • Parquet floors are quite durable. They are usually scratch resistant and don't fall prey to everyday wear and tear. The use of hardwood makes parquet strong. Parquet flooring put together well usually lasts 50 years or more without needing any major renovation or resurfacing.

Easily Resurfaced
  • If your parquet floors are neglected and fall into disrepair, they are easily resurfaced. Parquet floors are typically solid pieces of wood that fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. This thickness allows for several sanding and refinishes before the floor needs to be completely replaced.
Non-allergenic
  • Parquet floors are an excellent choice for people with allergies, or for those with small children at risk of developing allergies. The smooth surface provides no place for dust or other allergens to hide, unlike rugs or carpets, which can become a safe harbor for these unwelcome guests. Article edited and posted by Evans Omondi.
