UNDERGROUND TANK WATER PROOFING.

An underground tank is a container that is buried and contains water to be used in appliances. Water collected from ground catchments can be stored in various types of structures such ponds and underground tanks. An underground tank (or subsurface tank), is a water storage structure constructed below the ground. The term also includes structures that are partially below ground. In most cases, underground tanks collect and store runoff from ground catchments such as open grasslands, hillsides, home compounds, roads, and footpaths, paved and unpaved areas. Since underground tanks get support from the surrounding ground, they are usually built with less reinforcing material. Thus, underground tanks have lower construction costs and therefore, are more suited for storing water than surface tanks. They are also more prone to leakages and flooding and must therefore have excellent water proofing systems installed.
At East African flooring company we ensure that your underground water tank is water proof through our range of various materials and applicants that gives you an amazing finish and also on time.

PARQUET FLOORING

Parquet flooring is a type of floor made from several small pieces of hardwood placed together to form a pattern. The pieces are often made of different grains and types of woods. The pattern formed can be quite large, sometimes encompassing an entire room. Parquet can also form a small pattern in a tile. In this case, identical parquet tiles are used to cover a room. Parquet is more popular than some other types of flooring for several reasons.
The Look
  • One of the most important factors to consider when deciding on a type of flooring is the finished look. The look of parquet flooring is appealing and sophisticated to many people. It's unique, which is hard to come by in today's world of boxed laminate floors. The different types of wood make it easy to match to nearly any decor or style. There are so many varieties of parquet available, you'll be sure to find a design to fit your taste.
Cleaning
  • Parquet flooring, much like any other hardwood floor, is easy to clean. Spills wipe right up, and all that is needed for regular cleaning is a broom and a mop. Parquet floors rarely stain, and you don't have to worry about them absorbing unpleasant odors.
Durable
  • Parquet floors are quite durable. They are usually scratch resistant and don't fall prey to everyday wear and tear. The use of hardwood makes parquet strong. Parquet flooring put together well usually lasts 50 years or more without needing any major renovation or resurfacing.

Easily Resurfaced
  • If your parquet floors are neglected and fall into disrepair, they are easily resurfaced. Parquet floors are typically solid pieces of wood that fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. This thickness allows for several sanding and refinishes before the floor needs to be completely replaced.
Non-allergenic
  • Parquet floors are an excellent choice for people with allergies, or for those with small children at risk of developing allergies. The smooth surface provides no place for dust or other allergens to hide, unlike rugs or carpets, which can become a safe harbor for these unwelcome guests. Article edited and posted by Evans Omondi. The Benefits of Laminate Flooring

Convenient Packaging: Natural hardwood flooring comes in planks that are 8 or 10 feet in length, and sometimes even longer. By contrast laminate planks that simulate hardwood are sold in convenient 4-foot strips. They are also available in tile form in varying sizes.

Versatility: Today laminate flooring can simulate the look of dozens of different natural hardwood materials. The printing process can also reproduce the appearance of a variety of natural stone, and ceramic flooring materials. With EIR embossed in register texturing they are even able to somewhat reproduce the surface texture of these natural materials.

Cleaning: The wear layer of a laminate floor protects the material from stains and some spills making cleaning and maintenance relatively easy. Typically the only regular requirement is sweeping or vacuuming of the floor to remove grit and dirt which can slowly erode the floors wear layer over time.

Installation: The installation of a laminate click together floor is one of the easiest do it yourself flooring projects you can undertake. New innovations in the manufacture of this material have made it so you do not even need to use adhesive. You just roll down a sheet of under layment, and then snap the planks or tiles of the floor into one another. An entire room can usually be finished in just a day or two.

Goes Anywhere: With the exception of carpet, laminate flooring can be installed over almost any existing floor in the home. As long as a moisture barrier is in place and water prevention measures are taken it can also be installed at any grade. This removes the hassle and expense of having to remove old flooring installations before installing new laminate materials.

The Elements: Laminate flooring is resistant to many of the outdoor agents that can discolor other flooring materials. The wear layer protects it from stains and smudges due to dirt and mud making it a great material for hallways and entryways. It also resists fading from UV light exposure making it popular in sun rooms.

Health: Laminate flooring is naturally resistant to the growth of mold and bacteria. It can also be treated with special allergen resistant and anti-bacterial coatings to make them even safer.

Expansion: The nature of the installation process means that the flooring material is not adhered directly to the sub floor. Rather all of the pieces of the floor are interlocked, or adhered one to another. That means that the material can expand, or contract, due to changes in pressure and temperature, without buckling and snapping against the sub floor.

Acclimation: Hardwood needs to sit in an environment for 3-6 weeks so that it can acclimate to the temperature and pressure of the area. Laminates can be installed in as little as 36 hours.

EPOXY FLOOR PRIMER

Benefits of an epoxy floor primer

  • Epoxy primers are thin and provide for better adhesion because they penetrate into the concrete substrate for a better bond.
  • Primers provide for a better chemical bond of the thicker epoxy base coat which results in a longer lasting and more durable garage floor coating.
  • Because of their thinner nature, epoxy primers help to eliminate bubbles and pinholes that can form due to out gassing of the concrete.
  • They allow for the subsequent base coat to achieve a higher dry film thickness and coating uniformity since it is not soaking into the concrete.
  • Some epoxy primers are effective in providing a moisture barrier for garage floors that have light moisture problems such as efflorescence.
  • Most are moisture tolerant and work well when being applied in high humidity areas of the country or concrete that has not fully dried from being cleaned or acid etched.
  • Some are specialized such as oil blocking primers. These are solvent based primers made to cover concrete that has been contaminated by oil and can’t be completely cleaned.

WHAT IS GROUT?

Are you in a crossroad of selecting the best and correct type of  grout to use? It will depend with the type of  material selected ,the tile color and also the style.
Grout is a paste used to fill gaps in between spaces, joints, cracks within masonry walls and floors.
There are cement-based grouts and epoxy grouts. Cement based grouts depends mostly on the width between tiles where either non-sanded grout or sanded grout is applied. Non-sanded grout is applied on smaller tile joints and thus designed to be applied to dry tile surfaces.
Unlike non-sanded grout which is used in dry tile surfaces, sanded grout is designed to be applied to moistened tile. Its recommended for use in larger joints thus giving the surface stronger bonding.

Epoxy grout offers water resistant properties and it is recommended for ceramic, porcelain and counter tops. Its ideal and good choice for high traffic areas due to its durability state.
